What a sad little blog we have...it has gone neglected for nearly a month! As you might expect, over the course of the past month, many new milestones have occurred in our little man's life. Wade and I survived our stay in Lynchburg (barely!), and while we were there he started crawling. I have some of it on a video, but I don't know how to get it to load successfully on here. I am so not technologically inclined. In fact, I've been known to cause technological devices to malfunction just based on my proximity to them...but I digress. In addition to his newfound mobility (which has made for a much happier little boy in general!), Wade cut his first two teeth (which did not make for a happier boy...). Just within the past couple of days, he's started eating a lot better too. I'm particularly relieved by this, as he really is a little guy...at his last two doctor's appointments (the second of which was today) he had slipped to the 5th percentile for weight. He's a tall one though, as he's in the 90th percentile for height.
Here are some recent photos:
Wade was very content in the new swing at MiMi and Papa's house. He actually fell asleep in it! (And I then proceeded to banish everyone, including the dog, from the outside, so as not to risk disturbing his precious and rare sleep!!)
My sweet grandmother, who recently moved into the Elk's Home, an assisted living home in her hometown of Bedford, VA. Wade, Graham, and I visited her during our time in Lynchburg. I hope I look half as good as she does when I'm her age!
This was taken right when Wade crawled for the first time! He loved (and loves) chasing after keys and cell phones.
We took advantage of mom and dad's pool membership, and Wade really seemed to enjoy the water. It's amazing how he was so much more interested in it than just a couple months earlier during our trip to Florida.
Graham is so good with Wade. He loves to hang out with him down on the floor. Wade has recently begun to find his Uncle G really funny too, which is hilarious to watch.
So proud that he can sit up with confidence now (this picture is a couple weeks old; I know, I'm behind)! I could just eat that face!
Bath time is a nightly ritual of which daddy is in charge. Wade loves the bath, and I think part of the reason is because daddy makes it so fun! It is a riot to hear their conversation (well, at this point, daddy does most of the talking with some babbling from the Wadster)...I have got to sneak up there and get some of it on film at some point. (the duck "bib" is supposed to be a visor to keep soap out of his eyes, but it's too big.)
Hope everyone is enjoying the start of our favorite season: Fall! I know I say this all the time, but I hope to be back soon with more pictures and stories :)
I love your new photos of my little guy! I can't wait to see both of you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWade is just like his second cousin in the weight and height area -- same percentiles. How funny!
ReplyDeleteIs Wade playing with a spatula in that next-to-last picture?
ReplyDeleteMegan--Yes, that is most certainly a spatula. Wade's favorite "toys" are non-toys. He loves spoons, all sorts of tupperware, cups. I'm thinking going out and buying actual baby toys is overrated!
