Grieving and Planning

Would you like to know why I am grieving?  It is a very serious matter.  Are you ready?  Ok.  Well, tonight we are scheduled to watch the last, LAST, episode of my beloved show, Prison Break.  I believe I have previously mentioned my obsession with this show.  Judge us if you like (and maybe you should?), but watching an episode (or two on a really wild night!) is an essential part of Philip’s and my evening together each night.   And I’ve grown to love the characters and I just might even think about the storylines during the day and pretend they are real, and then when the show we are currently watching ends, I seriously grieve.  There is a void in my life, and it is JUST SO HARD to not be able to watch it each night.

This is my boy, Wentworth Miller who plays Michael Scofield (Kelly B., if you are reading, can I get a holler?).  He is kind of like a Jack Bauer, if you are into 24.  Basically, he makes all things right.  Typing that makes it sound like he’s kind of like Jesus.  hhmmm.  Maybe I am onto something?

{trust me, the tattoo plays an integral role in the show, hence I have chosen this image*image from here

Now, switching gears, let’s talk about planning.  As most of you know, baby sister is due to make her debut in around 9 weeks!  yikes!!  We are planning to move Wade into the current guest room, hopefully sooner rather than later, so as not to make the little dude feel as though he is being booted out of his room by a new family member with whom we would like him to associate positive things.

So.  There is much to be done.  And when you really like things like interior design, picking out fabrics, paint colors, etc. you can easily turn the process into a long one.  Well, the guest room can also be referred to as the room where I have done next to nothing in terms of decorating.  It’s basically a blank slate.  Never painted the walls (gasp!  for me, that is kind of crazy.  I’ve painted our living room four times, people.).  Just kind of threw stuff in there and tried to avoid really looking at the room during the day.  But now I have a deadline, and I want to make the room special and inviting for my little Wadster (and who am I kidding, I want to make it nice for me too :).  So, here is where we are:

I found these posters at a local children’s consignment store and really loved the style and colors.  I also had that yellow fabric that I wanted to use.  So, I found a few more coordinating fabrics, and while my plans are *always* subject to change, I am thinking this is what we’ll be working with.  I’ll probably go pretty neutral/light with the wall color.

And then I have this piece, which I plan to paint.  It will serve as Wade’s dresser.

Do you spy what’s on top?

They are elephant sconces!  And I heart them!  Question is, should I paint them or leave them as is?  (will be changing the shades for sure as they are pretty busted up.)

And that’s where we are at nearly 31 weeks in, folks!  Thanks for indulging me on this little preview tour.

Now, I’m going to go join my husband in the living room for 44 minutes of Prison Break bittersweet joy.
