Have You Ever Noticed?

When you check out at the grocery store, the cashier will often ask if you found everything. I'm a pretty honest person, so I'll tell them if I did or if I didn't. Well today, twice (yes, I was grocery shopping twice. not fun.) I answered that no, I hadn't found everything I was looking for. It's funny to me how both times the cashier looked really surprised and didn't quite know what to do. I guess I should say "no, but thanks for asking" (because, really, what can they do?). It's kind of like when people ask you how you're doing and if you say anything other than fine, it throws them off. These are the kind of thoughtful and deep things I consider during my day.
